Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu

The Inca jungle tour starts from the highest point of the entire route at the “Abra Málaga” pass at 4,330 m.a.s.l. where we will begin with descent with the bicycles in the direction of the town of Santa Maria located in the low jungle, in the course we will be able to appreciate picturesque landscapes and natural attractions according to the altitudinal floors that we will pass.

After an arduous descent, we arrive at the town of Santa Maria to take a break and renew our energy. In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to get on a boat and row on the Vilcanota River.

The next day we will continue with the Inca jungle tour and this time we will walk through the jungle until we reach the town of Santa Teresa on the way we will be able to appreciate the flora and fauna as well as the traditions of the locals. Remember that this area of ​​Cusco is the edge of the Amazon jungle, it has one of the richest areas with biological diversity on the planet.

Upon arrival at the town of Santa Teresa, we will rest and at night we will enjoy a relaxing bath in the Cocalmayo Hot Springs.

After doing this activity we will go by car to Hidroelectica in this place we will start with a 2-hour walk to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). During the walk, you will be able to appreciate a great variety of flowers and exotic plants.
In Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) it will be the place where you can rest and restore energy so that the next day we go up to the Inca city of Machu Picchu.

This day will surely be the most remembered because we will visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. According to the schedule of the Ticket to Machu Picchu that you have purchased, we will go to the bus station that will take us to the entrance to Machu Picchu, this journey lasts approximately 25 minutes. To enter the Inca citadel you will have to show your passport plus your entrance ticket if you are a foreign tourist and for national tourists, you must show your ID plus the entrance ticket. Remember that you can only enter an authorized tour guide and the maximum time in Machu Picchu is 4 hours.

At the end of the tour in Machu Picchu, you will have two options to return to Aguas Calientes, you can walk back or get on the bus again.
In Aguas Calientes, you will also have two ways to return to Cusco
First Option: You can take the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and in Ollantaytambo, you must get on a minivan that will bring you back to Cusco. This route is the shortest but requires an expense for the cost of the train.

Second Option: You can take the road back from Aguas Calientes to Hidroelectrica and at Hidroelectrica you must take a minivan to Cusco. This way back is cheaper but requires a walk of 2 hours plus 6 hours in a minivan.
