Tickets for Peruvians and the Andean Community (Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia)
The general rate for Peruvians and citizens of the Andean Community is 64 soles ($17.58)
The rate for university and/or technical higher education students and for minors is 32 soles ($8.79).
Note: To acquire this ticket, national and Andean community students must present their valid student card.
Tickets for Foreigners
In the case of foreign visitors, the rate for adults is 152 soles ($41.76), students 77 soles ($21.15), and minors 70 soles ($19.23).
The rate for university and/or technical higher education students and for minors is 32 soles ($8.79).
Note: To acquire this ticket, foreign students must present their valid ISIC card.
Free Entry for Cusqueños
On Sundays, the free entrance of the citizens of Cusco to La Llaqta of Machu Picchu is maintained. To do so, they must compulsorily have the zero-cost entry ticket, registered in the electronic reservation system.
They do not pay As of January 1, 2021, children under 3 years of age do not pay their admission. On the other hand, children over 3 years old will pay a student rate.
Types of Tickets to Machu Picchu3
Machu Picchu Ticket Only
This ticket only allows you to enter the Inca city of Machu Picchu, in 4 hours you can visit: House of the Guardian, Temple of the Three Windows, Intihuatana, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Condor, the incredible agricultural area, and many other Inca buildings located inside the Inca city. In addition, depending on your time and physical condition, you can also visit the Inca Bridge, a few minutes from the Citadel of Machu Picchu.
Ticket Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu Mountain
This ticket allows you to take a tour of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and also climb the Huayna Picchu mountain. This entrance is ideal for travelers who like vertigo because the path is really very demanding until reaching the top of the Huayna Picchu mountain.
However, do not forget that this ticket only has 200 entries per day so its sale is faster and it has to be reserved 3 to 4 months in advance.
Machu Picchu Ticket + Machu Picchu Mountain
The Machu Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain ticket allows you to enter the Inca city of Machu Picchu and climb Machu Picchu Mountain.
This ticket is a new circuit because, if you do not find the ticket to Huayna Picchu, you can always choose to climb the Machu Picchu mountain, from its top you can see the impressive landscape of the growing Inca Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu mountain range. This ticket is recommended for travelers who like to hike since reaching the top requires about 2 hours of ascent for which you must be in good physical condition.
The sale of this ticket is limited to 200 people per day. there is usually always availability for this ticket. So you can book it 1 month in advance.
What do Machu Picchu tickets include?
Depending on the type of ticket purchased, Machu Picchu tickets only allow you to enter:
Machu Picchu, Inca City. Here you can visit the following attractions: Casa del Guardian, Intihuatana, Temple of the Three Windows, Temple of the Condor, Temple of the Sun, the main square and the beautiful agricultural platform. Also, a short walk away, you can visit: the Inca Bridge (Puerta del Sol) in Intipunku.
Huayna Picchu Mountain. It allows you to climb the ancient Inca trail to the top of Huayna Picchu. This mountain is the one that appears on all postcards of Machu Picchu. Huayna Picchu is located about 300 meters from Machu Picchu (2450 meters above sea level), Inca City. It houses several Inca ritual centers, including the Temple of the Moon on one of its sides.
Machu Picchu Mountain. Located south of the Inca City (3082 masl). The requirements for raising interest rates are not high. From the top you can appreciate the magnificent landscape of the Inca city of Machu Picchu, the Huayna Picchu mountain and the impressive Urubamba River. And the beautiful mountains of the Andes.

There are two ways to book tickets to Machu Picchu
First: You can book through its web platform www.machupicchu.gob.pe
for which you must have a credit or debit card or some other online payment method. You must take into account that there are different entry times to the Inca city of Machu Picchu, for which we suggest that you review your itineraries beforehand so as not to have any setbacks.
Second: You can buy them in the premises located in the city of Cusco and Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).
