Itinerary

1

Day 1: TOUR VALLE SUR – TIPON – PIQUILLAQTA – ANDAHUAYLILLAS

This is a tour where we will have the opportunity to visit the archaeological sites of Tipón, Piquillaqta and Andahuaylillas located in the southern part of Cusco.
Our tour starts at 8:00 am with the pick up at your hotel to go to the archaeological complex of Tipón. This archaeological site was an important place and a shrine where the water was worshiped with the care and veneration with which the Incas treated this element; that is why we can observe a rich hydraulic engineer each of the terraces.
Then we will go to continue with the tour to visit the archaeological site of Piquillaqta. The archaeological complex of Piquillacta or Piki Llaqta is an archaeological site formed by the remains of a city in Ancient Peru. Today is a national archaeological park of great natural and scenic interest.
We will continue the tour to visit Andahuaylillas that has two major tourist attractions: The Sistine Chapel and the Church of San Pedro that inside there are beautiful pictures of the Cusqueña school of the Colonial period.
At the end of the tour we will return to the city of Cusco and in the afternoon you will have time to tour the imperial city.

Day 2: CHINCHERO – MARAS – MORAY

We start the tour with pick-up at your hotel at 8:00 am. With our guide we will go to the town of Chinchero, one hour from Cusco. Chinchero has a rich cultural and monumental heritage, it is one of the few places in Cusco that intactly preserves the customs and traditions of the ancient Inca Empire. Continuing with the road we will go to the town of Maras the visit to this place is given by salt mines that exist in this place with more than 5000 wells grouped in small terraces on top of each other, the Salinas de Maras offer a unique show and also It has a beautiful view towards the Urubamba River Valley. Next we will continue to the archaeological site of Moray, made up of admirable andenería systems in different heights to experience different Andean crops. Moray is a must in your trip through Cusco that encloses history and scenic beauty. At the end of the tour we will return to the city of Cusco and in the afternoon will have time to rest and prepare for the next day.

Day 3: CUSCO – ABRA MALAGA – SANTA MARIA

Our adventure begins at 6 am. We leave in our transport to Ollantaytambo, then the bus will go uphill to get to the pass of Malaga where we will have a few minutes to prepare our cycling equipment before starting our 4 hour trip, going down by bicycle to Santa Maria. In the descent by bicycle you can enjoy the different microclimates and ecological floors such as: highlands, cloud forest, tropical jungle, we will also visit the impressive archaeological sites of Incatambo and Wamanmarca. Continuing with the bicycles we will arrive to Santa Maria in the afternoon, we can take a boat in the Urubamba river for two hours, then we will return to our accommodation in Santa Maria for tea and dinner.
• Time: 3 and a half hours by bus to Abra Malaga – 4 to 5 hours of descent by bicycle.
• Accommodation: Country House.
• Meals: lunch and dinner.
• Bicycle Distance: 60km Approximately.
• Maximum height: 4316 masl Abra Malaga.
• Minimum height: 1500 meters Santa Maria.
• Climate: Cold at the beginning of the tour and warm at dusk.

Day 4: SANTA MARIA – COCALMAYO – SANTA TERESA

After breakfast, at 7:00 am we will start walking through the rainforest, passing by a large number of fruit plantations, avocados, tangerines, oranges, mangoes, cocoa, coffee and coca plantations. We arrive at Quellomayu for our lunch and a short break we will continue our Inca jungle trail to climb a moderate hill through a portion of the original Inca trail to the hot springs of Cocalmayu. Once we arrive, we will enjoy the medicinal thermal waters and relax after our long walk. Then we take the bus to Santa Teresa where we will spend the night.

Day 5: SANTA TERESA (Zipline) – HIDROELCTRICA AGUAS CALIENTES

After breakfast, our guide will give some recommendations. Passengers who have booked in advance will make the zip line tour for a time of 2 hours, at the end they will be taken on a bus to hydroelectric, the rest of the group will continue the trek for about 3 hours until reaching hydroelectric in this place the group will come back together to enjoy our lunch and have a short break. Then our Inca jungle road to Machu Picchu continues this time by the train rails until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes. At night we will meet in a restaurant to enjoy a great dinner and spend our last night in the hotel that was booked.

Day 6: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

After an early breakfast we take the bus around 6:30 am to the ruins of Machu Picchu. Once there we visited one of the most visited and most important architectural centers in the world “Machu Picchu”. Our guide will take you for a time of 2 hours through the most important places of these mysterious and enchanting ruins. After that, we will have plenty of time to explore more, take photos and the option to climb the mountain Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain (the entrance to these two mountains is made several months in advance due to its high demand) or walk up to Puerta del Sol. At the end of the excursion through Machu Picchu we return to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and our bus will wait for us to take us back to Cusco.

Note: Machu Picchu entrance time will depend on the type of ticket reserved, remember that there are two types of entrance tickets to Machu Picchu. The income of the first group is from 6.00 am until 12:00 hours, the second group of income is from 12:00 hours until 5.00 pm.
