Start of the tour: 04:00 am pick up from your respective hotel.

Itinerary

Day 1CUSCO – LARES – WACAWASI

Pick up is at 4:00 am from your hotel in our minivan to travel through the Sacred Valley towards the province of Calca and from here we travel two and a half hours until we reach the district of Lares, a special place to enjoy the hot springs. Here we have breakfast and begin our walk along a route full of houses, local people working in their fields, llamas and alpacas scattered in the surrounding mountains. In an estimated time of 4 hours of walking we will arrive at the Wacawasi village to have lunch, rest and visit the waterfall located 400 meters from the town, thus ending the first day of adventure with a hot dinner at night and resting.
Distance: 10 km.
Climate: Temperate-cold.
Meals: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner.
Accommodation: Camping.
Minimum altitude: 3100 meters high, Villa de Lares.
Maximum altitude: 4580 meters high, Abra Lares.
Time: 4 hours (approximately).
Difficulty: Regular.

Day 2WACAWASI – IPSAYCOCHA LAGOON- PATACANCHA.

Today will be a long day, after breakfast we will continue with the trek to the highest area of the route and along the way we will see how the local children go to school wearing their traditional clothing with ponchos and colorful girls’ clothing. Passing the last houses we will begin the climb to the Ipsaycocha pass, which is 4350 meters high, at this point we will have an impressive view of the Nevado Verónica which is located several kilometers away at a height of 5750 meters above sea level.
From here we begin to descend gently for an average of an hour, arriving at the beautiful Ipsaycocha lagoon, where we will have our lunch, then we will continue our walk through the mountains full of herds of llamas and alpacas, finally we will arrive at the town of Patacancha, where we will spend the second night.

Climate: Cold.
Meals: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner.
Accommodation: Camping.
Minimum altitude: 3700 meters high. Patacancha.
Maximum altitude: 4350 meters high. Open Ipsaycocha.
Time: 6 hours (approximately).
Difficulty: Demanding.

Day 3PATACANCHA – PUMAMARCA – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES.

Early after our breakfast we will descend through the valley until we reach the road to take our transportation on a 45-minute trip to Pumamarca village and visit the archaeological zone, then enjoy an outdoor lunch. In this section our walk takes us along a beautiful route where we will cross more than 600 Inca terraces. The next point is Ollantaytambo located in a fertile valley with rivers and covered by immense mountains, this ancient Inca town is considered one of the most important living museums in the world. It is the perfect place to appreciate the vast archaeological remains and the city with its streets and friendly people. In the afternoon we will walk 15 minutes to the station to board your Ollantaytambo train on a two-hours trip to Aguas Calientes, a small city where you will spend the night in a hotel book by our company.

Day 4AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO

Today will be a special day, to visit Machu Picchu we have several circuits, depending on the date of the reservation we will buy the most complete (circuit 2 ), as well as we also have different entry times that can be at 6-7-8- or 9 in the morning, we recommend starting as early as possible so that you could have the photos without many people inside Machu Picchu.
To go to Machupicchu from Aguas Calientes, we will board the uphill bus that will leave us at the entrance in a 25-minute trip. Here our guide will begin the tour in the archaeological zone, where we can visit different places such as the temple of the sun, sundial, house of the Inca, temple of the condor, etc.
If you have a visit to one of the available mountains “Waynapicchu or Machupicchu” (not included), depending on the start time, our guide will show you the route to visit these places, keep in mind that this hike will be done on your own.
Once the tour is over, you can walk back or also buy a bus ticket back to the city of Aguas Calientes, but you should keep in mind that sometimes the line to board the bus is so long that it can take an hour or more, between 12 to 1 in the afternoon.
Already in Aguas Calientes, after our lunch, we will collect our suitcases from the hotel to board the return train until we reach Ollantaytambo, that is where our driver with the minivan will be waiting for us to return to Cusco city.
