Peru is considered a diverse country in flora and fauna, in the department of Madre de Dios and Cusco there is this unique natural park of Tambopata, a place that is home to species such as; monkeys, macaws, insects, alligators, otters and insects of all sizes and colors.
On this 5-day tour you can learn more about the way of life in the Peruvian jungle.
Pick up at the airport or bus station and then go by car for 30 minutes and then walk 2: 45 minutes in the jungle observing a lot of flora and fauna such as monkeys then we will arrive at the Tambopata River and take a motor boat 20 minutes upstream and we will arrive at the lodge and then we will take a night walk to appreciate insects such as spiders, scorpions and sometimes snakes, etc
We will get up early 5:00 am. to go to the clay lick and observe the macaws and parrots how they fly and how they eat the salty clay, then we return to the lodge to have breakfast and then head towards the city and go to Lake Sandoval (this journey is along the same path that we traveled on the first day or It could also be by boat to the community of Infierno 3:30 hours by motor boat to take a car 1 hour to the city of Puerto Maldonado and then take a motor boat 45 minutes down the Madre de Dios river).
We will have to walk 3 km. Approximately 45 minutes And we arrive at a water channel where we will take a rowing boat and go to Lake Sandoval and on the way we will be able to observe turtles, herons, shanshos (naturalists say that it is the ancestor of the Archeopterix, a prehistoric bird), monkeys, etc. . Arriving at the lodge we settle in the rooms and rest and at night we will take a night walk to appreciate the life of some insects such as spiders, scorpions, tarantulas, etc.
We will get up early 4:30 am. approximately, to go and observe the palm clay lick of macaws, parrots and parakeets. Then we will return to the lodge for breakfast at 8:00 am. Then we will rest and then at 10:30 am. We will take a walk around the lodge to appreciate the flora of the jungle and observe the Chestnut tree since it is a very important tree and explain some medicinal plants and we will return for lunch and in the afternoon at 4:00 pm. We will go out by canoe to see more fauna such as the GT river otter (the giant otter) at dusk on the lake, you can see the black caimans when you shine the flashlight on them their eyes shine and reflect reddish, then we return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
After breakfast we return to Puerto Maldonado depending on the time of your bus or flight.
